• Makarantar Kimiyyar Rayuwa ta Jami'ar Vienna ta haɗu da haɗin gwiwar manyan cibiyoyin bincike na ilimi 17 a Turai, masu kiwon dankalin turawa, ƙungiyar EU mai zaman kanta, hukumar gwamnati da haɓaka fasahar tantancewa.
• Aikin ADAPT na neman ayyana sabbin makasudin kiwo da kuma damar irin dankalin da za su iya rayuwa a cikin takamaiman yanayin girma na gaba.
• Aikin ya sami tallafin Yuro miliyan 5 daga shirin EU Horizon 2020.
Ƙungiyar ADAPT ta ƙaddamar da aikin haɓaka dankalin turawa mai yawan damuwa, wanda ke da nufin haɓaka sabbin dabaru don daidaita dankali don ƙalubalantar yanayin girma na gaba. Za a aiwatar da aikin ADAPT a cikin shekaru huɗu masu zuwa tare da jimlar kasafin Yuro miliyan 5 daga shirin EU Horizon 2020 (GA 2020 862-858).
Dankali yana daya daga cikin kayan abinci masu mahimmanci a duniya. Sai dai babban abin da ke kawo cikas ga yaduwarsa shi ne yadda dankalin turawa ke fama da matsalar muhalli, musamman ga hadewar zafi da fari da ke kara yaduwa saboda sauyin yanayi. Wadannan yanayi sau da yawa suna biyo bayan ambaliya na yanayi, wanda zai iya kashe duk amfanin gona a cikin 'yan kwanaki.
Aikin na ADAPT zai hada ƙwararrun manyan cibiyoyin bincike guda goma, masu kiwon dankalin turawa guda huɗu, masu haɓaka fasahar tantancewa, hukumar gwamnati da ƙungiyar masu zaman kansu ta EU don yin nazarin hanyoyin da ke tattare da juriyar jurewar dankalin turawa.
Dokta Markus Teige daga tsangayar kimiyyar dabi'a a jami'ar Vienna ne ke jagorantar aikin ADAPT, wanda ya bayyana cewa dankalin turawa yana fitowa daga yanayi mai sanyi don haka yana da matukar damuwa da zafi. Haka kuma, tun da tubers suna girma a cikin ƙasa, suna da matukar damuwa ga damuwa na ambaliya, wanda ke ƙara haɗarin kamuwa da cuta. "Ta hanyar wannan aikin, za mu gano martanin kwayoyin halitta da abubuwan da suka dace ga yanayin damuwa daban-daban waɗanda ke ƙara zama mahimmanci ga yawan amfanin dankalin turawa a cikin ƙalubalen yanayin girma saboda canjin yanayi. Masu binciken aikin za su hada ilmin kwayoyin halitta, ilimin halittar danniya, ilmin tsarin halitta da nazari tare da ci gaba da kiwo, sannan kuma za su hada da hukumomin da suka fi mayar da hankali ga masu amfani don gwada iri. "Bisa ga fahimtar injiniyoyinmu, muna da niyyar ayyana sabbin manufofin kiwo da daidaita nau'ikan dankalin turawa zuwa takamaiman yanayin muhalli. Ilimin da aka samu daga bincikenmu zai kai ga kai tsaye ga masu ruwa da tsaki masu mahimmanci da masu amfani da ƙarshen da ke da hannu a cikin shirye-shiryen kiwo da jagorantar haɓaka fasahar inganta dabarun sarrafa amfanin gona, ”in ji Dokta Teige.
An gudanar da taron farko na aikin ADAPT akan layi a watan Yuli 2020 tare da halartar wakilan abokan aikin da Hukumar Tarayyar Turai.
